Our Story

Hello! We are Matt and Stephanie. We are so grateful to you for considering us in your search to find loving parents for your child.

Our story began all the way back on our first day of law school, when we happened to sit next to each other in class. We built a solid friendship that semester and remained friends throughout law school. After graduation, Matt moved to Chicago for his job while Stephanie stayed in St. Louis. But despite the fast pace of our careers, we kept in touch. Matt eventually left his job to...

About Stephanie

Growing up, I always loved being around children. I loved playing with the babies and younger children in the family and the neighborhood, and started baby-sitting as soon as I was old enough. Before I decided on a career as a lawyer, I earned a degree in early childhood education and even taught for a while.

I spend as much time as I can with my unofficial god-children and our many nieces and nephews. To them, I am Aunt Stephanie, Aunt Stephie, Aunt Steph, Auntie Steph, and Miss Stephanie. During the pandemic, my nieces became FaceTime pros and we spent a lot...

About Matt

My mother was a teacher and my father was a lawyer, so books and learning were a huge part of my life from the very beginning. I would read endlessly, often getting into trouble because I would be awake reading by flashlight after bedtime. My library card became one of my most prized possessions. In addition, my siblings and I were lucky enough to have the opportunity to travel when we were kids. We went to Mexico and Europe and all around the United States. I discovered that I loved the feeling of learning and exploration that comes from being in a new place. It was the same...

Our Family

Our families are full of children and full of energy. We are all excited to add another to the mix!

Stephanie grew up with one older brother. He and his wife also live in Colorado with their twelve-year-old twin daughters (who can’t wait to have a cousin to baby-sit). They also became guardians to the son of a family friend, so we also have a nephew in his mid-twenties who lives in Idaho.

Growing up in St. Louis, where Stephanie’s parents still live in her childhood home, her extended...

Our Interests

Travel: We have both always loved to travel. Stephanie has traveled through Western Europe, Ireland and Thailand. Matt has visited 49 of the 50 states, dozens of countries, and even climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. After we started dating, we continued our travels together. We’ve visited eastern Europe and southern Africa, including a safari in Botswana. For our first Christmas together, Matt bought Stephanie a scratch off map to frame and hang on the wall so that we could keep track of where we’ve been together. We can’t wait to share our love of...

Our Home

We live in a beautiful three-story, four-bedroom home with views of the mountains from all sides. From the front porch, you can watch the colors of the sunset spread across the horizon. From the back deck we can see the slopes of the ski resort. The kitchen, living room and dining room are all connected. It was designed by the previous owners for spending time together as a family and it serves that function very well.

Our home is located just about a mile from the center of town. Our neighborhood doesn’t get much traffic, so it is perfect for families...
